Thoughts From the President

Once again the holiday season is upon us. It is a time to reflect gratefully on the things we treasure in our lives and to share with those less fortunate. Please do not forget to bring donations to the Battered Women’s Shelter- Kimberly Hartzog will be there to collect them and make sure they are delivered to the shelter. We have two new co-chairpersons for the Exhibit Committee- Kimberly Hartzog and Fran Boffo have graciously consented to collaborate on our Exhibit program- thanks to you both! I have invited Rebecca Gonzales to our potluck to inform us about the Pony Express Loveletters program in February. Please consider signing up- it is a fun program and a great way for us to connect with the community. We will also have a Share table at the Potluck- please bring any items you have completed or are working on- everyone loves to see them! Best wishes to you and your family for a blessed holiday season.

Holiday Potluck 2019

We have our General Meeting coming up on Thursday, December 5, 2019, 6:30-9 PM at Christ Episcopal Church. This is our annual Holiday Potluck Dinner, so be sure to bring whatever dish you signed up to bring!
Also, please note that we will NOT be in our usual meeting room, but rather in the new Outreach Building that we watched them build all last spring and summer.

Parking is in the same place as always, and if it’s full, then park in the Belknap parking lot, as we’ve done before.

We are expecting Rebecca Gonzales of the Briscoe Museum to join us so that we can take a few minutes to discuss the Valentine’s Day Pony Express activities at the museum. This is always fun and it’s a great opportunity for us to engage in outreach for our community.
And last, but very definitely not least, please remember to bring your gently used or new items and/or gift cards for the folks at the Battered Women’s and Children’s Shelter. Note that gift cards can only be $10 each, in order that they an be given directly to residents at the shelter. And please remember that there are women AND their children at the shelter, and the children include teens, both male and female. They are all always grateful to be remembered at the holidays. Kimberly Hartzog is our liaison with the shelter and will accept donations in the parking lot, so there will be no need to bring everything into the room and then back out again. Thank you, Kimberly!
