Thoughts From the President

Hope y’all had a wonderful “distant” Thanksgiving! Are you sorry to see 2020 coming to an end? I sure won’t miss it over much. Remember our Valentine creating project that we do each January for the Women’s Shelter? Well, its ON again. Please make sure you let Maggie know if you would like to participate in this special Mini Workshop and we will make the materials available for distribution on January 12th, BEFORE the “Zoom” Mini on January 21st.

This Mini will require 2 exchanges! You will need to return all the completed Handmade Valentines to the place where you picked up your materials packet No Later Than January 28th.

ALSO……

If you would like to purchase some of those boxed Valentine Cards for the kids at the shelter to exchange with each other and their classmates, please bring them with you when you drop off and we will deliver them with the completed Handmade Valentines.

This Community Service activity is vital to our role as a Guild in San Antonio and it warms the hearts of some folks that are in need of tenderness and compassion. I wish we could see how moved the recipients are when they see the love that goes into creating these.

Watch your email for updates. We are using the same 4 locations for materials.

January 2021 Mini Workshop

We are going to have our annual Valentine Card Making for the Battered Women’s Shelter on 21 January via Zoom so you will need to sign up with Maggie Gillikin by 28 December 2020 if you want to participate in this mini. Again we are distributing packets for you to pick up or to receive in the mail for out of town members. This time, you must agree as you sign up to return the finished cards by 28 January to the place you picked them up or mail them to Maggie to be received by 28 January. We will be sending out emails to remind everyone of the dates, and when you can pick up your packet - as in November, you will go to the same person to pick up your packet. What a long explanation this is!!
