Thoughts From the President

Yes! We can do it online! I was so happy to see everyone at our General Meeting, Program, and Mini. It was like being in the FRONT ROW for a class without the pressure of being called on by the teacher. I don’t know about you but I learned a whole lot more.

Free MINIs are also a great perk. Don’t forget our 2nd Thursday show and share from the MINI. If you send photos to Leslie it will make it easy for all to see. Please, be sure to get signed up for MINIs with Maggie when she calls for it. We are going to have distribution points for passing out supplies. Details will be emailed to you. Please check your email often for updates and Zoom links.

On December 3rd our usual potluck dinner will turn into a share experience. Please email Leslie with photos of projects you have been working on. It will be an informal social event. Make sure you bring your own delicious snacks so we can all enjoy vicariously! Fewer calories that way?

For this program, Leslie Winakur will present a lecture on The History of Illuminated Manuscripts. There will be lots of eye candy, and we promise not to bore you!Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Mini Workshop - November 2020

November 19, 2020
Non-traditional Tools
Maggie Gillikin

No more need to worry about bad weather, traffic gridlock, etc. - Zoom has eliminated those problems! So on November 19, another Free mini workshop, here we come! This time we will experiment with wacky, off-beat, totally non-traditional tools. Some can be found just lying around, while others will be engineered by us. Great finished pieces of art can evolve from experimenting with these tools.

Registration will be necessary for this mini, because there is a packet of unusual items for each of you. You must register by our General Meeting night, November 5, in order to reserve a packet.

There will be 4 locations in San Antonio where you can pick up your packet. Please let Maggie know where you would like to pick up your packet, so she can have it ready for you at that location (none are in gated communities). Your name will be on your packet. These are the pick up sites:

Laura Herold - Northwest
Maggie Gillikin - North Central
Lynn Rothe - Northeast
Karen Fridlund - Central

If you live outside the San Antonio area, we will mail your packet to you on November 6, via priority mail.

Please email, text, or call Maggie Gillikin to register: momogillikin@gmail.com 210-708-3969

You are welcome to attend and observe the mini, even if you do not register for a packet. Just a reminder - this mini workshop is free and is for SACG members only.

Supply List:
